We went on a guided walk along the Northern Klondike River with Tommy, our French Canadian guide. We worked hard to absorb four hours of information while taking in the intricate beauty of the taiga and tundra.
Yesterday, Bill hiked up Grizzly Creek. He carried bear spray and had company along the way. His hike took him up up up to the lookout where he could see Tombstone Mountain at the end of the valley.
We set our alarms twice for 1:00 am but missed the Northern Lights by an hour one night (2:00 am!) and woke up to cloud the other. We are too old to stay up all night but still hold out hope,
